Peru:
Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu & The Heart of the Andes
September 29 — October 10, 2027
With Karen Score & Ann Biasetti
Join us for an unforgettable journey through one of the world's most fascinating and awe-inspiring destinations. Rich in history, mystery, culture, breathtaking landscapes, and ancient wisdom, Peru has a way of touching both the heart and soul.
Our adventure begins in vibrant Lima, Peru's coastal capital, where we'll spend two nights in a charming historic mansion nestled in the beautiful Miraflores neighborhood overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We'll explore Lima's fascinating history, colorful culture, renowned cuisine, and spectacular oceanfront scenery, including the iconic Parque del Amor and the stunning clifftop boardwalk.
From Lima, we'll take a short flight to Cusco before descending into the breathtaking Sacred Valley, where we'll spend six nights at a beautiful retreat center surrounded by the majestic Andes Mountains.
The Sacred Valley is a place of extraordinary beauty and energy. Here, ancient traditions remain alive, towering mountains watch over fertile valleys, and life moves at a gentler pace. During our stay, you'll have ample time to relax, reflect, and immerse yourself in the magic of this remarkable region.
Stroll through lush gardens filled with native plants and fruit trees, enjoy a spa treatment, gaze at the stars beneath crystal-clear mountain skies, explore charming Andean villages and vibrant local markets, or simply sit quietly and take in the peaceful surroundings. Those seeking deeper insight into local traditions may even choose to experience a traditional Coca Leaf Reading.
Each day, Ann Biasetti will offer optional therapeutic yoga sessions designed to help you feel grounded, energized, restored, and deeply connected to yourself and the natural beauty surrounding you. Drawing on decades of experience as a yoga therapist, somatic psychotherapist, author, and teacher, Ann creates a supportive and welcoming environment where participants can explore movement, rest, mindfulness, and self-compassion at their own pace.
Ann's approach blends therapeutic yoga, restorative practices, myofascial release, mindfulness, and the wisdom of yoga philosophy to support both physical well-being and nervous system regulation. Her classes are accessible to all levels and designed to help you feel more present, balanced, and at ease throughout our journey.
We'll also venture out to explore some of Peru's most impressive archaeological treasures, including ancient Inca sites that continue to inspire wonder and curiosity centuries after their creation.
After allowing ourselves time to gradually acclimate to the altitude, we'll make our way to one of the most extraordinary places on Earth—Machu Picchu.
Along the journey, we'll visit the remarkable ruins of Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca towns in Peru and an important gateway to the Amazon region of the ancient Inca Empire. From there, we'll board a scenic train that winds through dramatic mountain landscapes to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where we'll spend two nights.
The following morning, we'll rise early to witness the magic of sunrise at Machu Picchu. As the first rays of light illuminate the ancient stone city, we'll explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site with an expert guide, learning about its history, legends, and enduring mysteries. You'll also have time to wander, reflect, take photographs, or simply sit quietly and absorb the profound energy of this sacred place.
Our journey concludes with a visit to Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire and one of South America's most captivating cities. Here, centuries-old Inca foundations blend seamlessly with colonial architecture, creating a city unlike any other. We'll explore its fascinating streets, markets, plazas, and hidden corners before gathering for a final celebration dinner together.
As we return home, you'll carry with you more than beautiful photographs and wonderful memories. You'll leave with a deeper appreciation for the ingenuity of the Inca civilization, the beauty of the Andes, meaningful new friendships, and perhaps a renewed sense of connection to yourself and the remarkable planet we call home.

Nestled among the breathtaking mountains of Peru's Sacred Valley, each day will begin and end with nurturing therapeutic yoga practices designed to help you feel grounded, energized, restored, and deeply connected—to yourself, to nature, and to the journey unfolding around you.
Each morning, we'll gather in the peaceful stillness of the Andes for a gentle meditation followed by a thoughtfully guided yoga practice. Combining both active and restorative movement, these sessions are designed to awaken the body, open the heart, and cultivate a sense of balance and vitality for the day ahead. Drawing from the wisdom of therapeutic yoga and the subtle body, Ann will guide you in exploring practices that support ease, awareness, and a deeper connection to yourself. All movements are adaptable and accessible, making these sessions welcoming for every body and level of experience.
As the sun sets behind the mountains, you'll be invited into a deeply restorative evening practice designed to help you unwind and absorb the richness of the day. Through gentle myofascial release techniques and supportive restorative yoga postures, you'll release tension, improve mobility, calm the nervous system, and invite the body into a state of profound rest and renewal.
Throughout the retreat, Ann will share insights into the healing potential of therapeutic yoga, including the transformative effects of restorative practices, nervous system regulation, myofascial release, and the Koshas—the layers of our being that help us access greater awareness, resilience, and well-being.
Whether you are new to yoga or a longtime practitioner, these sessions will offer a supportive space to move, breathe, rest, and reconnect while surrounded by the extraordinary beauty and energy of Peru.

“I have had the honor of joining Grace in Nature on four retreats so far. I was always someone who traveled solo or with one other person, and I never thought I would enjoy traveling with a group. I could not have been more wrong.
What Karen offers in her retreats is something I never would have been able to accomplish on my own. Karen is possibly the kindest person I have ever met, and she has a way of finding the most incredible accommodations, locations, and guides for every trip.
I love that I can simply show up and fully trust that I'm going to have an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The balance of thoughtfully planned excursions and time to explore or relax on your own is perfect.
I can't imagine traveling any other way. I've met wonderful friends through these retreats, and so many travelers return again and again. I'm incredibly grateful to Karen for making it possible to explore the world in such a meaningful way."

"This was my second trip with Grace in Nature, and from start to finish the experience was exceptional. Our journey through Peru was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to experience the country's incredible culture, food, history, and breathtaking landscapes.
The spiritual connection with the land, mountains, and people of Peru was made even more meaningful by the intimate group experience and Karen's considerate, deliberate attention to every detail.
Traveling with Grace in Nature has left me with wonderful memories of the places we've visited, the people we've met, and the experiences we've shared—and, of course, wanting more. Thank you, Karen and Gina, for such a wonderful adventure."

"Several of my friends had traveled with Karen and raved about her retreats, so I finally decided it was time to join one. One friend even said, 'Why would you travel with anyone else?' Now I completely understand why.
I joined the Peru retreat without knowing anyone other than Karen, so I was a little intimidated at first, but she made me feel welcome and included every step of the way.
The itinerary was brilliantly designed—from our time in Lima to the Sacred Valley and the unforgettable experience of Machu Picchu. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and Karen's warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care made the entire journey feel effortless.
She is a remarkable leader who makes everyone feel welcome. I highly recommend any retreat Karen leads."
